Turu Anasi Matala EP comes with three original tracks, Matala, Odissi, and Mamma Birjuida. Matala gets its inspiration from the hippie beach located on the Greek Island Crete. This island is where young Americans and musicians would hide from the conscript of the US Army. This place holds a unique energy. Turu was heavily influenced during his time on the island. Odissi the second track of the EP grabs its influences from an Indian dance. Turu was watching a clip on Odissi and was influenced by the music and dancers and all the other things in the clip. His mood was affected and he decided to create a track based on how he was feeling. Fusing his own groove to the other Indian elements he created the track. Mamma Birjuida was recorded after a night at Carpet Pattern Club in Ukraine. Uniting his bond with the Wagashi Brothers, this heavily influenced the outcome of the track.

Every single song on this stellar compilation is a moody and memorable dose of deephouse, each wearing the intricacies and intelligence of their design lightly. If you have room in your heart for smart and emotionally grown-up electronica, you'd be doing yourself an enormous disservice overlooking this. Ben Harris
